Children of Afghanistan Mission PDF Print E-mail

Pamir Airways, the first private airlines of Afghanistan recently purchased two Boeing 737 passenger aircrafts from Global Aircraft Solutions Inc. and Hamilton Aerospace Technologies located in Tucson, Arizona. These aircrafts will help move people around locally; as well as in and out of the country to help strengthen the economy. The aircrafts are currently undergoing complete refurbishment at Hamilton Aerospace Technologies and the first aircraft is scheduled for delivery on (or around) the 10th of June 2008. The airplane will need to be ferried from Hamilton Aerospace Technologies facility to Kabul, Afghanistan. The owner of Pamir Airways and an Afghan national, Zabi Shaikhhani, has agreed with great enthusiasm to allow Another Joy Foundation to fill the aircraft with toys, school supplies, clothes, and blankets; making it possible for us to deliver them to the children in Afghanistan. Zabi Shaikhani has also graciously agreed to pay for the extra fuel required due to the additional weight from the supplies. We have already collected over 5 tons of toys and school supplies but we can fit approximately 6 tons per aircraft so please join our mission. Help us deliver Joy!

We will have photos posted on our site after the delivery of the first aircraft so you can see the many smiles of joy you helped deliver. Capt. Momin Khan, Vice President of Pamir Airways has been a tremendous help by assisting Another Joy Foundation with gaining the support of his company. We thank Capt. Monim Khan dearly.

The majority of the toys and school supplies already collected were donated by Aaron Hansel, Director of The Dream Center of Las Vegas – www.dreamcenterlasvegas.org. We are truly grateful for his support.

The above photo was taken at Hamilton Aerospace Technologies facility in Tucson, Arizona prior to us loading the toys and school supplies on the Aircraft. We would like to give a special thanks to Mr. Sawyer and all of his employees at Global Aircraft Solutions and Hamilton Aerospace Technologies for graciously donating over a ton of toys and school supplies. We also thank Mr. Sawyer for providing the man power that was required to unload the supplies off the truck and onto the Aircraft.
